Liverpool John Lennon Airport is located 7 miles south of Liverpool, and is one of the UK’s longest established operational airports- officially opened in 1933. Nowadays, Liverpool Airport is one of the busiest airports in the country with flights to around 60 destinations in the UK and across Europe. Liverpool Airport was the first airport in the country to be named after a person when it was rebranded in 2001 as a tribute to John Lennon. EasyJet, Ryanair and Whizz Air all fly from Liverpool Airport.
