All of us love a great night out, but we also treasure those nights spent at home, curled up in our pyjamas on the sofa in front of a great film or reading an unputdownable book.
It was for just such occasions that hush was formed in September 2003. Our philosophy - then as now - was very simple. That comfort need not come at the expense of style. And that time spent relaxing was time to be relished.
There has never been a shortage of clothes designed for wearing out, but there was at the time a serious lack of flattering clothes designed for staying in - nightwear and loungewear that was as good to look at as it was to put on.
We called it homewear. Clothes designed to be worn around the house - nightwear that wasn't confined to the bedroom; loungewear that you could wear to the front door (and beyond); and little treats to make those nights in extra special.
That is why, for instance, our pyjamas are all low-waisted - to make your legs look as long and your bum as small as possible; and why our vest tops have a hidden support so that you can keep your cleavage even when you lose your bra.
It soon became clear that we weren't the only ones that were frustrated by the lack of stylish clothes to wear at home.
The fashion press quickly picked up on hush - in only our second season the FT listed us as one of their 10 favourite mail-order catalogues alongside such stellar international names as Victoria's Secret and Abercrombie & Fitch.
And what was at first a slow trickle of customers quickly became a steady (and ever growing) stream. Even today in our fifth year in business, we still rely principally on word of mouth - so if you love hush , please tell your friends.
